This is your year to grow.

I have officially been following the “keto” diet for 30 days at this point and I am feeling great! My weight loss hasn’t been as significant as I would have liked, however, for 30 days and no working out – it’s awesome! {Stay tuned for a post about keto down the road}

As of this morning, I am down 12.5 pounds since January 2nd. Not only have I lost weight, I have noticed a lot more changes as well – I am no longer in gastrointestinal distress on a near-daily basis; I don’t feel sluggish or out of energy after lunch; and I am rarely hungry!

One of my biggest non-scale victories over the last month is that I haven’t succumbed to my desire to face plant in to sweet treats when they are brought in to my office. Seriously, I passed up the best cupcakes in the entire world and I feel proud of that.

A few things I am planning to incorporate into my routine this month, to hopefully get even better results:

  • I’m going to start doing light cardio 3-4x a week for about 20-30 minutes; I’m going to be doing Country Heat (a Beachbody “dance” program)

  • I’m going to be incorporating BHB salts daily, as well as MCT oil and collagen peptides

  • Increased water intake – I am like the WORST water drinker in the entire world. I could probably go days without drinking a glass of water {of much of anything for that matter}. I need to be more mindful of this and make sure to stay hydrated.

  • Decreased artificial sweetener {Yes, I know, this is a huge no-no in the keto world HOWEVER it has been the one thing that has truly helped me cut the cravings for other sweets so I allowed myself to have things like aspartame, sucralose, etc.}

I’m looking forward to seeing what February is going to bring – short month and all. And I look forward to sharing my favorite keto items and recipes with you!
